Rita Ep 13 - "The Bet" by Anton Chekov

It is good to be back, after my month off for jury duty!  This week's story is a psychological thriller by Anton Chekhov: "The Bet.

It's an odd story, quiet yet tense, but also not a modern thriller.  It's the sort of story that you might want to think about or talk about afterwards -- especially about the choices these characters made, and whether the ending is a happy one or not.

Quick Update

Reading in the Attic has been on hiatus for a month or so because I had jury duty.  We have finished with the trial, and served justice, and I am now finally getting my feet under me.

I hope to have the next episode, featuring some short stories by Chekhov, up on March 31.  Then an excerpt from  a wonderful Western/High Fantasy by Kyra Halland titled Beneath The Canyons on April 14.

I have so much to catch up on, that I have to cut back on my posting frequency: I plan to do episodes every other week when I have stand-alone stories. If I do another serialized longer story, I will do those episodes weekly.
